Green Horizon Ultrawide Setup
About this build
A 49-inch Neo G9 horizon over an IKEA worktop, wrapped in plants: this is the work-by-day, game-by-night desk done with intent. The 32:9 curve replaces a dual-monitor arm with one uninterrupted sweep, and the SKADIS pegboard plus ELLOVEN riser keep the worktop clear enough to actually use it.
The peripherals tell you the split honestly: an MX Master 3S and Keychron K8 for the day job, 240Hz and a subwoofer under the desk for the evening. A Nest Hub runs the smart home from the corner, and the laptop lives vertically behind the monitor feeding the whole thing over one cable.

Why this setup works
A super ultrawide is the one display format that genuinely serves both halves of a hybrid desk: by day the 5120 x 1440 canvas replaces a dual-monitor setup without a bezel down the middle, and by night the 1000R curve at 240Hz is as immersive as sim and open-world gaming gets. Every other choice reduces friction between the two modes. The vertical stand means one cable swaps the whole desk from work laptop to gaming PC, the pegboard and riser keep the worktop clear for the mouse-heavy day job, and the plants and felt mat stop nine hours at the same desk feeling like nine hours at the same desk.
